Features Vilso Bigi

VILSO BIGI (born in Novi di Modena, on 21 September 1934), elementary teacher, librarian, photographer and writer by passion.
He lived in the same country where he was born and where he carried out his professional and cultural promotion activities.
He has elaborated several texts, all linked to lived experiences and direct knowledge of his world which, although knowing part of much larger realities, he never wanted to cross.
Therefore the diffusion of his works is enclosed in a strictly local ambit, even if several wider-ranging themes and problems can be identified in them.
Chronology: 1964/1970 - “PRIMIO NOVI DI PITTURA”.
Four editions of the national biennial of figurative arts of which he was organizer as well as editor of the respective catalogues.
1972 - "Ten years of painting by Adriano Boccaletti", collection of critical comments on his painter friend, mended with personal annotations.
1980 - "La Banda in Novi “.
(History of the band on the centenary of its birth).
2004 - "Fotoclub Novese, 25 years and beyond" - "The delight of photography".
(Notes on the strengths and weaknesses of the amateur photography world).
2007 - “The dairy in Via Gazzoli”.
Primarily autobiographical in nature, the book gives particular prominence to the figure of the father who died in 1944 due to wartime events.
Intent expressed in the incipit: "I wrote about myself to talk about my father".
Resumed in various circumstances until it was rewritten in 2018, it is still being reworked.
2010 - “Aria di Paese”.
A journey through time between true and semi-true stories of people and events, passions and emotions, memories and confidences of a villager from the Bassa faithful to his land of heat, mists and infinite horizons.
2018 - "Dear square, goodbye" .
Posthumous diary of the earthquake in my country and in my land.
(Description of a lost village that will hardly be recovered).
2018 - "Fables in the family".
School reminiscences reworked with the 4 grandchildren and left to lie between the computer folders, taken up as an antidote to the suffering of the contemporary earthquake story.
2019 - "Simple interludes".
Collection of poems contained in the books listed above and arising in the interval between one narration and another of the topics covered.
Some have been transposed into audiovisuals with a photographic basis and musical commentary.
